I'll have Chocolate Cake for Breakfast!

When I was younger I remember my parents playing the Bill Cosby "Chocolate Cake" act in the car.  You know the one where the little kids try and convince their Dad to have chocolate cake for breakfast when he is on duty and Mom is away.  My kids.....as you can see from the pictures have a LOVE of all things baked goods....they get that from me.  I think the "Chocolate Cake" bit had a large influence, or it could be the tremendous bakers on both sides of my family....anyway it is a trait I proudly pass along to both Dylan and Jude. :)

We had a great holiday weekend full of swimming, boating, resting, and birthday partying!  The cupcake was from Miles Kimball's 3rd birthday party.  Dylan hardly had time to eat due to the fact she and Mason could not stay out of the water until injuries began to occur.....but they were right back in after the "magic band-aid" was applied and chicken nuggets and cupcakes were inhaled.

Happy 3rd birthday sweet Miles.....great party...great cake....what a sweet "little monster" you are!

Since I can't leave out the newest Kimball.....sweet Max.....you were so good at the party too!

So Happy Together

This summer (all 2 1/2 days of it so far) is already proving to be quite the "bonding" experience for Dylan and Jude.  This weekend I put Dylan down for a nap and Jude snuck in her room and in her bed just to be next to her.  Today, Dylan tucked Jude in her bed for nap time....we worked so hard to make it work, but Jude was too excited.  So....we put Jude in his crib and Dylan in the twin bed in his room.  I told Dylan, "Just pretend you are asleep and he will go to sleep."  I closed the door and all was silent...then I started hearing Jude, "shi shi....'mon shiiiiii shiiiiii, 'mon my bed." (Translation...siiiiiissssyyyy, come on......siiiiiiiiissssssyyy, come on get in my bed."  Followed by giggles of two little blondie's loving just being near each other! Melt my heart.

But like every good "mean" Mother...I had to separate the 2 so we could have a rest.  So for the next 30 minutes I heard two crying kids calling out to one another between the walls. "Shiiii Shhiiii"....cry from the other room "Sissy is right here Bubby."  Really!!!!! How horrible did I feel for separating them.

I Love how much the love each other.  Here are some togetherness pic's!
Happy Summer!

"My Mommy" By Dylan Jo

Dylan jumped in the car after school and handed me a bag of "mother's stuff" today.  In the bag was a clay star ornament she made, and clay hand print, and a story written by Dylan for me.  They got to pick the gifts they gave to their Mommy's and she drew a picture of me to go with the story.  Below is the story she wrote for me.

My Mommy
By Dylan Jo

My mom's name is Keely.  She is maybe 8 years old.
She has brown hair and the same color skin as me and my
daddy and my brother.  She has blue eyes.  She is really,
really pretty.  She has really fancy clothes.

Blue and Pink are her favorite colors.  Her favorite
movie is The Night at the Museum.  She like the Beatles
music.  For fun, she likes to make activities with me.  She
loves to dance with me.  When she's not with me, she likes
to watch TV.  For exercise, she works out on the TV and
focuses on the TV.

My mommy's favorite food is salad.  She likes grown-
up restaurants.

My mommy is special because she loves me and I love
all those things about her.  She makes me my favorite
food, chicken nuggets.  She helps me clean out my room.  I
love her so, so, so, so, so much.

......Now that is some good "Mother's stuff" if I do say so myself!

Happy Mother's Day!

For Grandma Alice

Several years ago my Grandma Alice passed away.  This year, on the day of her passing, Dylan received her assignment for Culture Day at school.  Her celebrated culture was to be Mexico and she her class was to have their Fiesta on April 30th.  Well..... April 30th was my late Grandma's birthday.....she was also very proud of her Mexican heritage.  She was a bilingual educator who celebrated and planned many Cinco De Mayo celebrations for her students.  To say I was a bit emotional on the day of Dylan's Mexico Fiesta is an understatement.  My Mom saved my Cinco De Mayo outfit I used to wear went I went with my Grandma to her school at age 5.....so Dylan was able to wear it for her celebration.  My Mom and I both know Grandma Alice was dancing in heaven to the Mexican hat dance right along with Dylan Jo.  It made me proud and also eager to look into and pass along that part of my heritage.

Jude enjoyed the celebration and danced along.  He has been pretty sick this spring...we can  not seem to get rid of these ear infections.  He is not sleeping much at all...I am hoping to get a little sleep tonight!  He has been such a snuggle bug though.....and he is getting soooooo big.  There is not alot of "baby" left in his look.  He is all boy...even when snuggled with daddy!  Oh.....he has a new obsession...Elmo and Dinosaurs.  We have an Elmo/Dino video.....it is a hit! :)
