Let's Try This Again!

Could it really be 2/12 years since my last post???????  Where does the time go?
Well...I won't backtrack, so we will just forge ahead.

The kids are now 8 and 4, changing ever single day.  The picture above is Easter Sunday and the kids were hamming it up for the camera.  Jude picked out Dylan's dress and his shirt to go with it.  At this age they can be so very sweet to one another and drive each other flipping crazy the next!  When they are apart though, they are always thinking of each other and wanting to bring something back to the other one.

Matt will graduate this May with his EMBA.  It has been a 2 year process, one we are both thankful will soon be coming to an end.  He has really burned the candle at both ends, working, studying, and making time for me and the kids.  We are all really proud of him.

Dylan is such a funny, warm, and thoughtful little girl.  Everyone loves her.  She has had a interesting 2nd grade year....math (like her mom) is not her thing, but she is working really really hard.  She loves playing goalie, basketball, and now softball.  Never a care in the world for this one!  Her passion is singing and she will be singing with a youth band in Dallas on May 4th.  She is so excited....she said "Mommy, this is my big chance!"  I love that munchkin!

Jude is coming out of his shell more and more.  He had surgery to remove his tonsils, adenoids, and tubes placed in his ears in early January.  Poor guy had some pretty aggressive hearing loss due to constant ear infections.  Basically, his favorite things are to be with Mommy, to be with Mommy, to be with Mommy, play with Dylan, and wrestle with Daddy.  He loves to read....we read all the time!  He plays Ninja turtles, super hero's, and anything Dylan tells him to play.  He has an incredibly sensitive heart and is very shy in class, but comes alive at home and with friends.  He opted out of soccer but is trying t-ball.  That is him in the picture during game time with his hat over his eyes in outfield!

Until next time....whenever that may be!!!!

Movie Magic

The kids have started to unwind at the end of the summer day with a movie and snack snuggled nest to one another in their bed.  It is so sweet to watch them spend time together and love being with each other.  Seeing them together make all of the other "stuff" go away....they just make me happy when the love on one another.  Dylan makes sure Jude is taken care of and everyone has their blanket.  Jude will pat Dylan's arm...and he will not let me start the movie until Dylan is next to him.  It is a joy watching them grow together.

We had such a great 4th of July.  We went out to  the Addison airport with our friends the Kimball's and their neighbor David (who is a pilot for one of the planes at the airport) to watch fireworks.  It rained right up until the fireworks started sooo.....the kids played in the rain!  We had great food, wet kids, an air show, and a beautiful sunset when the rain let up.  Then the fireworks began...we put the kids in their pj's, pulled chairs out on the runway, and watched an incredible show!

My sweet kids

What can I say about my sweet kids?

They take my breath away with their smiles,
and make the rain of life go away with a sweet hug.

They bring life into my darkness with their laughter,
and breath hope with just one call of my name.

The bring out a youthfulness in my sleeping soul,
and ignite passion in my heart with one simple i love you Mommy.

My kids are joy,
My kids are light,
My kids are an immeasurable gift from God
Which I do not deserve but am so thankful for everyday.

Love...Mommy

Super Hero's to the Rescue

I was cleaning house when suddenly I heard a loud sound overhead.  Where could that have come from....the last time I heard that sound I thought to myself "Is it a bird? A plane?....No it is Super Man."  It had been many years since I had even thought of Super Man.  Deep in thought I saw a "Dash" out of the corner of my eye and thought well that is "incredible"......I can see everything having had Lasik recently, but I just could not make out what kept "Dashing" around the sofa...even with my "Laser Vision."

I knew I need to focus on my chores....."Moody Matt" was on the loose (he totally took the Landscapers head off this morning" and I did not want to be next.  Desperate for help I sighed "Woe to me....who will save me from my doom and deliver help that will change Matt back to his Merry self?"

Before I knew it...."Super Dylan" stood before me, ready to fly into action or jump off the sofa.  Not to be out done....."Dash the Incredible" dashed around the house picking up and eating all the crumbs off the floor.  Before I knew it my chores were done....they sprinkled Super Hero dust over the house so that when Daddy came home he would magically loose his mood and turn back into Mighty Matt....planner of the good time, Daddy of all fun things!"

All that was left to do was to compare muscles and then they were off.  Thank you Super Dylan and Dash....come again soon!
