Has it really been 2 months since my last post? I missed all of December....probably because we had Thanksgiving at my house followed by Dylan's 5th birthday party on December 7th, a week long conference in Phoenix for Matt and myself the 8 - 13th, Dylan's birthday on the 16th (party at school), school program, and then the Smith Christmas and our house and then the Skidmore Christmas at our house! Oh...that is why I have not posted...no time.
Let's start with January....the kids went to my Mom's for a few days (with and ear infection and Strep throat) and Matt and I finally finished painting Jude's room (6 months after we started!) And we added to our family with our newest member....our dog Bolt! She is 1 years old and a beauty. Matt was gone for a week (he got back today) and while he was gone, Bolt ate thru a strand of Christmas lights, 3 Terra cotta pots, 1 tennis shoe, a pair of Dora shoes, and part of her food container. Soooooo, Matt is back and ready to run some of her energy out!
Let's talk Dylan.....
5 has brought on new ownership and self confidence. She is such a helper, making her bed, setting the table, taking care of Bolt. She worked very hard to earn Bolt. We are reading every night and she is getting stronger and stronger with her word recognition. The problem.....just like me, she will memorize and book the first time she hears it.....so I have to be careful if she is really reading or not. I just can not believe she is my 5 year old little angle. I still remember so much of my pregnancy with her and when she blessed our lives. I could have never imagined all she has become at the age of 5.
Judder...Judder
There is no little boy sweeter on the face of the earth. My dear boy is walking and getting around by running! This week I found him playing in the toilet, last week Matt found him dipping his paci in the toilet, the week before I found him playing in the toilet! It is water...the boy loves the water! He already lays on his back in the bathtub and puts his face in the water. You might be saying...put a lock on the toilet! The problem....the way Dylan bolts to the bathroom at the last minute there is no time for a lock!!!!! Really though it is so much fun watching him get into all sorts of trouble....he has his Mommy's heart wrapped in the palm of his hand!
We are having fun and keeping busy....hopefully we will not wait so long for the next post!
